A Land Forged in History
In the mists of time, the world of Valkarin was shaped by divine forces. Three powerful beings, Saradomin, Zamorak, and Guthix, shaped the land, creating its diverse realms and populating it with a myriad of races. This era, known as the First Age, saw the birth of the world and the dawning of life, with the gods directly shaping the very fabric of existence.
As the ages passed, these gods walked among the mortals, guiding their fledgling civilizations. The Second Age saw the rise of great cities and the flourishing of cultures, though many have been lost to time. This direct interaction between gods and mortals shaped the destiny of the world, for a time.
The Third Age, however, was defined by conflict - the God Wars. Powerful entities clashed, and the land was scarred by cataclysmic battles. Humanity, and many other races, teetered on the brink of annihilation. In an attempt to preserve the realm, the gods agreed to limit their direct influence, ushering in an era where mortals would shape their own destinies.
The Fourth Age, the Age of Mortals, saw the rise of humans and other races. Kingdoms were forged, alliances were made and broken, and the world was shaped by the struggles and triumphs of its inhabitants. Magic, both wondrous and terrifying, became a force in the world, and the echoes of the past continued to influence the present.
The discovery of runestones marked a turning point. These magical artifacts allowed humans to wield power previously only accessible to the most gifted mages. Human kingdoms expanded, but internal strife and ancient threats still loomed. The Fifth Age, the Age of Humans, is marked by both great prosperity and looming threats. The balance of power is fragile, and new heroes are needed to protect the realm from the darkness that gathers.
