Valkarin Game Rules

Please read these rules carefully. Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking them.

Common Courtesy & Use of Language

We require all members and staff to show a standard of common courtesy to others. Please use respectful and appropriate language at all times.

  • Avoid spamming, purposeful crashing, or intentionally baiting someone on any platform (in-game, Discord, etc.).
  • Do not engage in activities that disrupt the enjoyment of the server for others.
  • Avoid profanity, hate speech, or any form of derogatory remarks.
  • There is zero tolerance for harassment toward other individuals, especially based upon sexual preferences, personal or religious beliefs, gender, or race.
  • Language that may be considered offensive, racist, or otherwise inappropriate should not be used in chats or usernames.
Consequences: 1st Offense: Warning 2nd Offense: 24-Hour Mute 3rd Offense: Permanent Mute or Ban

Cheating, Exploitation & Software

Maintaining fair play is essential. Any attempt to gain an unfair advantage through unauthorized methods is strictly forbidden.

Bug Exploitation

  • Players must not use or attempt to use any bugs or glitches they may find in our game or website.
  • Any exploits found should be immediately reported via the official "Report a Bug" channel/page (e.g., on Discord).
  • Players must not safe spot NPCs in ways that are not possible in OSRS or intended in Valkarin.
Consequences (Bug Exploits): 1st Offense: 3 Day Ban 2nd Offense: 14 Day Ban + Account Wipe 3rd Offense: Permanent Ban

Third-Party Software

  • Use of auto-clickers, scripts, bots, or any software that automates gameplay is not allowed.
  • Using modified or unauthorized game clients providing unfair advantages is forbidden.
Consequences (Third-Party Software): 1st Offense: Jail (2000 Ores) 2nd Offense: Jail (5000 Ores) 3rd Offense: 72-Hour Ban 4th Offense: Permanent Ban

Scamming & Gambling Conduct

Scamming

Scamming through item loans, trust trades, unfair gambles, or any other deceptive means is strictly prohibited.

  • All scam reports require clear video evidence; screenshots are insufficient.
  • Lost items/coins will generally not be refunded, except in proven cases involving Staff Member misconduct.
Consequences (Scamming): 1st Offense: Permanent Ban 2nd Offense: IP Ban

Gambling

While gambling activities like dicing or flower poker may be permitted (verify this!), players must adhere to fair practices.

  • The pot and rules must be clearly agreed upon by all parties *before* gambling commences.
  • Agreed-upon rules must be followed without exception.
  • You are not allowed to Dice or Flower Poke (FP) for other players (acting as the house), unless explicitly permitted by specific game rules (e.g., Blackjack host rolling for both).
  • We highly recommend recording all gambling sessions for evidence in case of disputes, even if a Staff Member acts as a middleman.
Consequences (Gambling Misconduct): 1st Offense: 24-Hour Mute 2nd Offense: 72-Hour Mute, Permanent Mute or Ban

Real-World Trading (RWT)

Trading Valkarin currency, items, accounts, or services for any real-world currency, cryptocurrencies, items/accounts in other games, or other forms of real-world value is strictly prohibited.

  • This includes both buying and selling.
  • Both parties involved in RWT will be punished.
Consequences: 1st Offense: Permanent Ban 2nd Offense: IP Ban

Impersonation

Impersonating any member of the community (players or staff) for any reason (e.g., entertainment, monetary gain, manipulation) is forbidden.

  • Staff members will have clear, official indicators. Do not trust anyone claiming to be staff without these indicators.
  • Impersonating a staff member will automatically result in escalated punishment (considered a 2nd Offense).
Consequences: 1st Offense: Permanent Ban 2nd Offense (or Staff Impersonation): IP Ban

Advertising / Discussing Other Servers

Promoting, advertising, or encouraging players to join or play other game servers (especially competing private servers) is not allowed within Valkarin game chat, Discord, or other official platforms.

  • This helps maintain focus on the Valkarin community.
Consequences: 1st Offense: 24-Hour Mute 2nd Offense: 72-Hour Mute, Permanent Mute or Ban

Account Sharing & Service Sales

While generally discouraged for security reasons, account sharing (allowing someone else to play on your account) is currently allowed on Valkarin. However, please note the following:

  • You are ALWAYS Liable: The original account owner is fully responsible for any actions performed on the account, regardless of who was playing. If a rule is broken, the account owner faces the consequences.
  • Selling Services Prohibited: Buying or selling in-game services (e.g., paying someone to complete achievements, quests like Infernal Cape, skilling tasks) for real money OR in-game currency/items is **NOT ALLOWED** and may result in punishment for both parties.
  • Security Risk: We highly discourage account sharing due to the significant security risks involved (account theft, scams, etc.). Share your account entirely at your own risk.
Consequences (Selling Services): Likely treated similarly to RWT or scamming - potentially Permanent Ban / IP Ban. (Clarify this based on your intended policy).

Staff Interaction

Our staff team is here to enforce the rules and ensure a fair and enjoyable experience. Please interact with them respectfully and follow appropriate procedures.

  • Follow instructions given by staff members regarding rule enforcement.
  • Do not excessively argue with staff decisions in public chat; use official appeal methods if you disagree.
  • Do not impersonate staff members (severe offense, see Impersonation rule).
  • Do not submit false or malicious reports against players or staff.
  • Use designated methods (in-game report, Discord channels, etc.) for reporting rule-breaking or issues.
  • If you have issues or concerns about the game or staff conduct, please report them constructively through the proper channels.

Rule Updates & Final Notes

These rules are subject to change. Major changes will be announced where possible, but it is your responsibility to review these rules periodically. Continued play constitutes acceptance of the current rules.

Staff discretion will be used in interpreting and enforcing these rules. Actions may be taken for offenses not explicitly listed if they are deemed harmful to the game or community.
